CAMERA OPERATOR

CAMERA OPERATOR StANDARDS

Please arrive by 8:30am and join all Peak City Teams for pre-service prayer backstage. It is important for you to be part of the production meeting which follows pre-service prayer to review the order of service and to know what will happen throughout the service.

Please wear all black, to be less noticeable.

Responsibilities:

Operate video cameras for broadcast use.

Follow direction of the video director and standards for video camera operation stated here. 

The Director will communicate to camera operators which camera they are switching to before switching by saying, “Ready one” (or whichever angle they are going to) and then when they have the shot they want, “One”. By communicating “Ready” the operator will know they like what they see and you can hang on that until they switch to another shot.

Cameras:

Camera 1 should be framed in the center as a close up with main worship leader as tight as possible with forehead space above hair. Speaker should be framed in center at all times cropping from belt to forehead space above hair.

Camera 2 is a side stage shot that can be used for unique instrument and preaching angles.

Camera 3 is a side stage shot that can be used for unique instrument and preaching angles.

Camera 4 is a wider shot that is currently stationary and needs no operator.

Video Camera Operator How To’s:

Turn on camera and check all zoom and focus settings.

Familiarize yourself with the tripod head and practice smooth movements. (Leave your hand on the camera for the entirety of the time you operate and the sudden touch often leads to a jerky camera)

Get comfortable so you can avoid any kicking or unplanned movement.
