Lighting OPERATOR StANDARDS
Arrive and be in the booth by 5:15 Thursday and 7:30 Sunday to rehearse with the band.
Attend worship and production huddle at 6:15 Thursday and 8:15 Sunday in the green room. It is important for you to be part of the production meeting which follows pre-service prayer to review the order of service to know what will happen throughout the day.
Please wear all black, to be less noticeable.
We think of the big picture, while also working on details. How does what you’re doing affect the overall vision?
Responsibilities:
Change cues based on each part of service (worship, video, sermon etc.)
Add and subtract lighting movement effects with the dynamics of the worship songs
Use lots of effect and flashes for song 1
More dynamics for songs 2 and 3
Use ‘worship low’ fader to create visual dynamics during slow worship moments
Work with ProPresenter operator for background color change between songs
Use lighting intensity buttons on hits for appropriate parts of the worship songs
Set console to Pre-service look (before huddle at 8:30 service, right after 10:00 and 11:30 service)
Use ‘Next Steps Table’ fader to give light to the connections and prayer team. Turn it on for pre-service and leave it on through song 1, including the intro video. Turn it back on for host 2 as soon as the speaker comes up.
Lighting Console Setup:
Flight power switch to the right - it’s a three way switch, the middle is off
Click ‘Load Show’ when the console powers on, and choose the most recent dated show file
Press enter twice
Turn on DMX-512 fader bank - select bank one with the arrow pointing at it
Make sure light switch on the wall is OFF to get full control with console
